What should I do if the water from the shower head is not flowing smoothly?
At Fantasysell.com, the outlet holes of the shower heads we sell are made of two different materials, one is silicone and the other is stainless steel. If you encounter a situation where the water is not flowing smoothly, different measures need to be taken for the two types of shower heads.
- Silicone Water Outlet
Step 1: Clean silicone holes
First, check whether the silicone water outlet holes are affected by blockage or scale accumulation. If it is clogged, you can use a small needle or toothpick to gently remove the clog, being careful not to scratch the silicone surface.
Step 2: Soak the silicone nozzle
If there is scale or sediment around the silicone holes, you can remove the silicone part from the shower head, soak it in warm water, and add some vinegar or lemon juice to soften and dissolve the scale. Then gently wipe the silicone surface with a soft-bristled brush or toothbrush and install it on the shower head again.
Step 3: Check the water pipes
Make sure water pipes are not bent or clogged.
- Stainless Steel Panel
Step 1: Check the panel surface
First, check your stainless steel panels for scale, dirt or deposits. If so, you can wipe down the surface with warm water and a mild detergent. Then, rinse with clean water.
Step 2: Check the blowholes
Check whether the water spray holes on the stainless steel panel are blocked. If it becomes clogged, use a small needle or toothpick to gently remove the blockage.
Step 3: Check the water pipes
Make sure water pipes are not bent or clogged.
How to clean and maintain the shower head?
Regular cleaning: Clean the outer surface of the shower head with warm water and mild detergent every month or quarter. Wipe gently with a soft cloth or sponge and avoid using caustic or abrasive cleaners that may damage the surface.
Remove limescale: Scale will accumulate on the nozzle holes and internal parts of the shower head, affecting the water flow. You can regularly use vinegar or a special limescale remover to remove limescale. Soak the shower head in the descaling solution and gently scrub the hole with a brush or toothbrush.
Clean the shower head panel: There may be spray mode buttons on the shower head panel, and they also need to be cleaned regularly. Wipe the panel with a soft cloth or sponge to make sure there are no impurities or scale clogging the buttons.
What should I do if the shower head is rusty?
Cleaning: First, try to remove the shower head from the water pipe. Then, clean the shower head surface thoroughly with warm water and soap or a non-corrosive cleaner, and gently wipe the rusted area with a brush or sponge.
Vinegar solution: If cleaning isn’t thorough enough, try using a vinegar solution. Mix white vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio, then soak a soft cloth in the vinegar solution and wipe the rusty part of the shower head surface.
Wire brush: For stubborn rust stains, use a small wire brush to gently scrub away. Use caution to avoid scratching the surface of the shower head.
Anti-rust sprays: Some specialized anti-rust sprays can help stop the further spread of rust. After cleaning and wiping the shower head, you can spray it with a thin coat of anti-rust spray.
